Some UNI services require Duo, a multi-factor authentication system that protects your account. Using Duo helps ensure your account is only accessed by you.

Enrolling

To use Duo with your UNI account:

  1. Install the Duo Mobile app on your cell phone through the app store (Google Play or Apple Store). Note: receiving a phone call or text messages is not available as an authentication method due to security and financial concerns. The Duo Mobile app is the recommended and most secure method.
    1. If you do not have a compatible smart phone, a Duo token can be used instead.
  2. Visit a UNI service that uses Duo, such as Oracle eBusiness Suite.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen to enroll.

Need help?

If you have problems enrolling, contact the IT Service Desk with a description of your problem for additional assistance.

Using Duo after enrollment

After your account is enrolled with a Duo device, you'll need to have that device handy when signing into services that use Duo. If you don't have access to your Duo device, you can contact the IT Service Desk for a temporary bypass code or to have the device removed from your account to enroll a different device instead.

Once your device receives a Duo push you initiated, you will need to choose the "Approve" option to proceed.

Adding an additional Duo device

Do you have multiple phones or devices you could use with Duo? To add an additional Duo device to your account, visit Duo's instructions:

Problems receiving a Duo push notification?

If you have chosen the "Send Me a Push" option and your device isn't appearing with the prompt, open the Duo app. This should initiate the notification.

Duo also has an extensive article on troubleshooting Duo Push notifications on Android devices and another on troubleshooting push notifications on iOS devices.
